Human Research Protections Office (HRPO)

BRAAN Training

The Biomedical Research and Assurance Network (BRAAN), is an electronic system for submission and routing of protocols. BRAAN allows the protocol submission and review process to be more efficient since protocols are stored in a central database for easy retrieval. This allows protocols to be reviewed and processed by required personnel - all on-line from work, from home, or on the road. BRAAN is the online system for protocol creation, routing, signing, review, and tracking.

The HRPO will no longer offer monthly BRAAN Training Sessions effective November 7, 2005. However, we are providing the "BRAAN User's Guide" for you to download and read. This guide is an excellent source of information on maneuvering around in BRAAN, crafting protocol submissions, etc. We encourage new and veteran BRAAN users to download the guide.
