The Schizophrenia Related Disorders Program (SRD) is an outpatient psychiatry program dedicated to the compassionate and up-to-date treatment of those with schizophrenia and related disorders.
The major research focus of our program is the search for the etiological factors of schizophrenia and related disorders, early identification of at-risk subjects, treatment intervention and novel treatments of different aspects of the illness syndrome. The Neurophysiological Laboratory uses non-invasive instruments to evaluate eye movements, electroencephalography (EEG), and neuropsychological tests.
The clinical aspect of the SRD, namely the First Episode Clinic, provides intensive services to people who have recently begun to experience psychotic symptoms. Clinical goals are early evaluation, to clarify diagnosis and treatment. Medical students, graduate students, psychiatry residents are trained in our center.
