Leadership

The Research Program on Gambling is led by Dr. Kate Tracy, Professor and Vice-Chair for Research Services in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Mission

The goal of the Maryland Center of Excellence on Problem Gambling is to minimize the problems caused by gambling. The goal of the COE's Research Program is to implement a research agenda that:

  • Informs our understanding of gambling behavior
  • Monitors the impact of gambling on the population
  • Identifies evidence-based approaches to mitigating any harmful impacts of gambling
