Our Vision, Mission and Goals

Vision

Information availability together with the genius of our faculty, the dedication of our staff and the zeal of our students are the keys to success for the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Information technology is an enabler of data analysis and information creation as well as a facilitator of knowledge acquisition and transmission. These activities keep the School of Medicine in a position of national leadership.

Mission

The Office of Information Services designs and operates the data networking infrastructure of the School of Medicine so that it provides the speed, capacity, reliability and security to meet the needs of our faculty, staff and students.

Goals

To provide fast and courteous technical support for computer or network problems; to develop and promote standards for acquisition and use of computer hardware and software; to offer secure information access even from remote locations; and to work side by side with the School of Medicine community to develop solutions to their information technology needs.
