Access SOM E-mail from the Internet using Secure Outlook Web Access

(Internet Explorer is the recommended browser, version 6 or later)

• Open Outlook Web Access from the following URL: https://mail.som.umaryland.edu/exchange

• If this is the first time you have logged onto this website, you may receive the Microsoft Security Alert Certificate box(es), if so, read, and accept the certificates to proceed.



• When prompted with the "Connect to mail.som.umaryland.edu" box, in the "User name:" field, type som\ followed by your network user name – the same one you use to log onto the SOM network at work.

• In the "Password" field, type the password you use to log onto the SOM network at work. For security reasons we suggest you do not check the "Remember my password" box.
