Office of Information Services
The Office of Information Services provides a variety of technical services to support the faculty and staff in the School of Medicine. We maintain the computer network infrastructure in 15 SOM buildings. Our security section ensures network safety by providing firewall, intrusion detection and remote VPN services.
Server administrators provide network and email accounts; anti-virus protection, and operating system patches to more than 2,000 customers. Our help desk staff troubleshoot University-purchased desktop and laptop computers and coordinate service for the toner and printer/fax maintenance contract.
The software development team hosts a web content management system making it easy for departments to create and maintain their own sites. They also develop web-enabled database applications to support administrative and research applications.
