Student Health
The Student Health Office is located at 29 South Paca St., on the corner of Paca and Lombard Streets. It is supported by student health fees, which are included in tuition. The Student Health Office is open Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm. The office is staffed by Mrs. Harlean Millman, RN and Mrs. Denise Mitchell, MA. Dr. Kevin Ferentz is the medical director. The office's direct line is 410-328-6791.
Routine student health care is
provided by the University of Maryland Family & Community Medicine
Associates, P.A. physicians and residents during the following hours: Monday
and Thursday from 8am - 7:00 pm; Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 8am - 4:30pm.
Student Health provides primary and preventive health care services to
University of Maryland, Baltimore students. To make an appointment, please call
410-328-8792 and the customer service representatives will assist you.
The following services are provided free of charge to University of
Maryland, Baltimore students:
- Routine physical examinations
- Sick visits
- Treatment of minor injuries
- Allergy shot administration
- Blood pressure screening
- Routine gynecological examinations
- Family planning
Additional services for which fees may be charged:
- Diagnostic and laboratory testing
- Birth control pills ($6 per cycle) when obtained in conjunction with a yearly gynecological examination and Pap smear done at UFMA
- Immunizations are provided by Student Health at reduced cost
- Students and their dependents enrolled in the campus BCBSMD plan may use Family Medicine physicians located in Student Health as preferred providers

Your student ID will serve as your student health ID.
Using Student Health
For a routine examination, students can call and make an appointment.
Requesting an appointment on a particular day of the week or requesting to see
a particular physician may cause a delay in receiving an appointment. The best
time for urgent calls is between 8 am and 9 am.
For urgent care, please call to schedule a same day appointment or as a walk-in to Student Health. Walk-ins are seen on a first-come, first-service basis.
