Dr. Nasrin received her PhD in Epidemiology from The Australian National University, Canberra. She served University Putra Malaysia as visiting lecturer, followed by ICDDR,B Bangladesh, before joining the faculty at the University of Maryland. She is a member of American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
Dr. Nasrin's research focuses on child health and international health. Her research includes health seeking behavior for diarrhea and respiratory infections; role of zinc as a treatment of diarrhea, bronchiolitis, and pneumonia; nutritional consequences following diarrhea in children etc.
