Lung and Prostate Cancer

The laboratory is a long standing resource to the Laboratory of Human Carcinogenesis of the National Cancer Institute for the collection and characterization of human cells and tissues from surgical procedures to be utilized for studies of human carcinogenesis and extrapolation of animal data to man. Each cell and tissue has an epidemiological profile on the donor in order to permit case control and other studies of etiology, risk factors, environmental factors and genetic influences. The project has continued with increasing emphasis on case control and molecular epidemiologic questions including human cancer.
