Personal HistoryHeidi Dunfee, PT, DScPT is presently the Program Director and the Center Coordinator of Clinical Education (CCCE) for the Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Recreational Therapy Internship Program with the Mayo School of Health Science. She has been a physical therapist for 24 years and was the clinical education coordinator in a collaborative student model on the St. Marys acute rehabilitation unit for 18 years. She has worked with over 650 students on their clinical internships. She has served two terms as the Clinical Education Special Interest Group (SIG) Clinical Co-Chair for the APTA (American Physical Therapy Association). She is presently serving as the Secretary for the Education Section of the APTA. She earned a DScPT Degree from the University of Maryland, with her research interest in clinical education - specifically reflective learning. Heidi is a member of the APTA Clinical Instructor Education Board and is a trainer for the Basic and Advanced Clinical Instructor Credentialing Program. She is an Instructor in Physical Therapy with the Mayo School of Health Sciences Physical Therapy and adjunct faculty with the University of Maryland School of Medicine, University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse Physical Therapy Program, University of North Dakota and Shenandoah University, Winchester, VA. Heidi has experience speaking locally, at the state and national levels, and also internationally with a medical team to mainland China.
