Dr. Zimrin began interventional and clinical cardiology practice in Baltimore in 1986 and assisted in the early development of the coronary intervention program at St. Joseph’s Medical Center. In 1992, he initiated the interventional cardiology program at Sinai Hospital, where he served as director until 2005. Dr. Zimrin joined the University of Maryland School of Medicine faculty in 2005, where he served as Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Training Program and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory until 2012, when he was appointed Chief of the Division of Cardiology and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at the new University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center.

Dr. Zimrin participated in drafting Maryland State regulations for percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and cardiac surgery as a member of the Clinical Advisory Group on Cardiac Surgery and PCI Services for the Maryland Health Care Commission and continues that work as a member of the standing Cardiac Services Advisory Group. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology.

Research Interests:

Dr. Zimrin’s research interests have centered on new approaches to coronary revascularization with special interest in hybrid coronary revascularization.
