Personal History
Dr. Ryb received his medical degree at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1987. Following his General Surgery residency, he pursued a Trauma Surgery fellowship at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland and began a collaboration focusing on injury research with the National Study Center for Trauma and EMS. He received a Master’s degree in public health from The Johns Hopkins University (2003) and was inducted into the Alpha chapter of Delta Omega, the honorary society for graduate studies in public health, based on outstanding performance.Dr. Ryb is a practicing Trauma Surgeon and Intensivist. As the Assistant Director of Trauma at Prince George’s Hospital Center, he is involved in guideline development, teaching and quality assurance.
His interests include injury prevention and the psychosocial roots of injury. Dr. Ryb has publications related to substance abuse and trauma and recently presented data on suicide at the 7th World Conference on Injury Prevention in Vienna, Austria.
