Personal History

Dr. Eduardo Rodriguez is a native Floridian who received a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from the University of Florida in 1988, followed by a DDS degree from New York University in 1992. He pursued Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery training at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and completed his residency in 1997. He continued on to the Medical College of Virginia, receiving his MD degree in 1999. He completed his prerequisite general surgery training at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 2001 and was accepted to the combined plastic surgery program at Johns Hopkins Hospital / University of Maryland Medical Center, where he completed training in 2003. He subsequently completed an International Reconstructive Microsurgery Fellowship at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan in 2004.

Dr. Rodriguez is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Plastic Surgery. He is currently Chief of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Division at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, Associate Professor of Surgery at University of Maryland School of Medicine and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and Program Director of the Craniofacial Fellowship at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Research Interests

Dr. Rodriguez is currently involved in basic science, translational and clinical research projects focused on novel strategies of immunosuppression for composite facial allotransplantation.

Clinical Speciality

Dr. Rodriguez specializes in craniomaxillofacial reconstruction, reconstructive designer microsurgery and complex wound management.
