Personal History:

Dr. Alicia Lucksted is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Michigan and received her Ph.D. from the Clinical/Community Psychology program at University of Maryland College Park in 1997. She completed a Post Doctoral Fellowship at the Center for Mental Health Policy and Services Research at the University of Pennsylvania before coming to the University of Maryland Baltimore Center for Mental Health Services Research in 1998, where she an assistant professor of Psychiatry on the research faculty. Her professional work focuses on applied research towards improving public mental health services for people with serious mental illnesses, self-help interventions among mental health consumers and their family members, qualitative methods in mental health services research, the welfare of gay, lesbian, bi, and transgender people in the mental health system, and consumer views of mental health services.
