Personal History:

After practicing for 20 years as a Board Certified Internist and Geriatrician, I returned to my alma mater, the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and completed a residency in General Preventive Medicine, including an M.S. in Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology. I subsequently passed the Board examination in General Preventive Medicien and Public Health. I am presently completing my second year in US Government employment as a Medical Officer in HHS/Health Resources and Services Administration/Division of Transplantation. I am the Project Officer for DoT's Clinical Interventions to Increase organ procurement and am involved as a government representative to a number of the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network committees.

I maintain my association with DEPM as an Instructor in the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine and teach small group second-year medical students in their brief course in Environmental Health and Preventive Medicine. I plan to also teach small-group epidemiology sessions in the future.
