Jan Kriebs is a graduate of the Yale University School of Nursing program in Maternal Child Health/Nurse-Midwifery. Prior to her recent retirement from clinical practice, she provided pregnancy, birth and well-woman care for more than 30 years. She is co-author of two midwifery texts - Varney's Midwifery and Primary care for Women.
She currently serves on the American Midwifery Certification Board's Committee on Certificate Maintenance, the Maryland State Board of Nursing Direct Entry Midwifery Advisory Committee, and as Legislative Chair for the Maryland ACNM. She is a member of the Working Group on Elimination of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV.
