Biosketch

 

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Grumbine received his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University, where he was an All-American lacrosse player.  He then completed medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. From there, he moved on to the Greater Baltimore Medical Center for internship, followed by Emory University for a residency in ophthalmology. He then completed a 2-year ASOPRS fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Grumbine provides the full range of medical and surgical services related to the subsepcialty of ophthalmic plastic surgery for both pediatric and adult patients. His areas of expertise include management of orbital tumors, eyelid and periocular reconstruction, repair of orbital fractures, surgery of the tear drainage system (endoscopic and open), correction of eyelid malposition (droopy lids, eyelids that turn inwards or outwards, etc...), thyroid eye disease, treatment of blind painful eyes, rehabilitation of the anophthalmic socket, as well as cosmetic eyelid and periocular surgery.
