Biosketch

Hayley Hoffman CNM, MSN completed her undergraduate degree at Yeshiva University. She then went on to complete an accelerated nursing program at NYU. After completing her undergraduate degree in nursing, she continued on at NYU and pursued her Masters degree in Midwifery. She joined the faculty at the University of Maryland School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, & Reproductive Sciences in October of 2014. She has enjoyed delivering care to women throughout her career as a nurse and midwife. 

She believes in providing evidence based care to women in Baltimore. She loves her role as an educator. She spends much of her time on campus teaching residents, medical students, midwifery students and nursing students. She is a member of the University of Maryland breastfeeding steering committee and is passionate about helping her patients have successful breastfeeding journeys. 

In 2017 She became a certified IBCLC and has since focused on Breastfeeding Medicine. 

In 2022 She started the Breastfeeding Medicine Clinic at the University of Maryland and created a tongue tie referral program in conjunction with the University of Maryland School of Dentisty

Current research project- Studying the effects of ankyloglossia (tongue-tie) and follow up lactation support on maternal mental health

She started and is the faculty advisor for the Breastfeeding Medicine Student Interest Group at the University of Maryland Medical School
