Personal History:

I have a long-standing interest in improving access to care for HIV-infected patients. I provide direct patient care three half-days per week; teach medical students, residents, fellows and other attending physicians how to provide this care; and lead an outgoing HIV-training program for social workers, nurses, medical students, residents, fellows and attending physicians. I am the principle investigator on the Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resource Emergency (CARE) Act fund for Primary Care Part A and B, Women’s Health, Transportation, Food and Nutrition, and Nutrition Counseling.  I have helped developed an electronic medical record and database specifically for HIV outpatient medical care.

Research Interests:

My research interests include HIV infection and women, including menopause in HIV infected women and Pap smears and colposcopy in HIV infected women. I am also interested in the clinical manifestations of HIV infection and the side effects of antiretroviral therapy. I have been an active contributor to medical knowledge through published manuscripts, abstracts, reviews of infectious disease topics and textbook chapters.
