Ms. Pineles is an epidemiologist in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, Division of Genomic Epidemiology and Clinical Outcomes. She has been with the Department for over five years, managing projects funded by the VA, CDC, NIH and AHRQ in the field of hospital epidemiology and antibiotic resistance. Before joining the University, Ms. Pineles received her M.A. in Experimental Psychology from Towson University with a thesis on health behavior and self-medication. Previously, she spent five years working for the Hon. John Dingell in the U.S. House of Representatives on a wide variety of public policy issues. Ms. Pineles earned her B.A. in Psychology/Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Maryland, College Park.
