Personal History:

I received my PhD from the Ohio State University Interdisciplinary Nutrition Program in 2007. My initial training was in the field of dietary chemoprevention. For my post-doctoral work, I transitioned to studying diet-induced obesity and the development of insulin resistance in the lab of Sanjay Rajagopalan in the College of Medicine. I started at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in late 2013 and am looking forward to new and exciting findings.

Research Interests:

My research focuses on multiple aspects of the development of insulin resistance and metabolic dysfunction in obesity. We are equipped and experienced in studying immune-mediated inflammation as wells as various molecular aspects such as microRNA regulation of metabolic pathways.
