Personal History:

Dr. Amin received his MD from University of Bombay, Bombay, India in 1976 and completed one year of Internship at University of Louisville School of Medicine, Louisville, KY in 1977. Thereafter, he enrolled in the Residency Program in Radiation Oncology at University of Maryland Medical Center from 1978 to 1981 and joined the Department of Radiation Oncology as Instructor in July, 1981. He progressed to Assistant Professor from 1982-2004 and became an Associate Professor in 2004, a position he still holds today.

Research Interests:

Dr. Amin's research focuses on patients suffering from genitourinary cancer and brain tumors. Secondary interest pertains to integration of imaging (CT,MRI,PET) with treatment planning and image guided treatment for prostate cancer. Current focus is on improving outcomes while reducing morbidity in (1) newly diagnosed aggressive prostate cancers with multi-modality approaches including external beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy, hormonal and chemotherapy; (2) recurrent prostate cancer after previous external beam or brachytherapy treatments.
