CLINICAL ACTIVITIES

I have worked as a full time employee in the Western Maryland Health System that provides care in the multiple settings of acute in patient, acute in patient rehabilitation, out patient, nursing home and home care settings.  I have dealt with a variety of patient caseloads to include but not limited to joint replacement, cardiac care, neurologic impairment, wound care, and general physical therapy care.  My most recent work in the last three to four years has been with the general physical therapy care provision in our home care, out patient and nursing home settings. I provided evaluation for physical therapy care and provided gait training, functional training, neurological re-education, therapeutic exercises, therapeutic activity, patient safety education, performed debridement and dressings on wounds, application of modalities of electrical stimulation, ultrasound, iontophoresis, wound vacs, pulsed lavage, hyperbaric oxygen, and others. I have also supervised care provided by Physical Therapist Assistants and performed required duties outlined by State and Federal guidelines for supervision.

SCOPE OF CLINICAL PRACTICE:

1992-present      Western Maryland Health System Physical Therapy Department seeing 5-15 patients a day and spending 20% FTE doing leadership and administrative roles.

DEVELOPMENT OF ANY CLINICAL PROGRAMS:

Assisted with development of Total Joint Program, Cardiac Program, Stroke Center, and Wound Care Center
