Personal History
I graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2008 and completed my pediatrics residency at the University of Maryland in 2011. After residency, I served as a volunteer physician for six weeks with Continuing Promise 2011, a humanitarian mission aboard the USNS Comfort. During my time on the Comfort, I worked in Guatemala, El Salvador and Costa Rica. I joined the division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine in 2012.
Before coming to the University of Maryland, I received a masters degree in British literature from Brigham Young University. My thesis explored the relationship between the professionalization of medicine and literature in the early nineteenth century.
