Personal History
Dr. Zawahir was a Resident and Chief Resident at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons / Harlem Hospital Center. She then joined the University of Maryland School of Medicine as a Fellow in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition. There she was awarded the T32 Grant from the National Institutes of Health through the Department of Gastroenterology. Following completion of her fellowship she joined the faculty of the University of Maryland School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology.
