Dr. Ouattara received his PharmD from the University of Bamako, Mali, and completed a Master of Sciences in medical parasitology in Mali and France in 2002. Dr. Ouattara received his Ph.D. in Molecular Epidemiology from the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine in 2012. Dr. Ouattara joined the Division of Malaria Research in 2015 after completing postdoctoral training at NIH and the University of Maryland.

Biosketch

Dr. Ouattara’s research interests include molecular epidemiology, population genetics, and vaccine design. His work focuses on using new approaches to prioritize malaria vaccine antigens candidates, assessing the strain-specific efficacy of malaria vaccines, and surveillance of “vaccine resistant malaria.”
