I have worked in the field of molecular parasitology for more than 20 years. A considerable portion of my experience is derived from working at The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) in Nairobi, Kenya, where I studied Theileria parva, a tick-transmitted intracellular protozoan pathogen which causes a fatal acute lymphoproliferative disease in cattle called East Coast fever (ECF).

  • Subunit vaccine development & humoral and T-cell immunity.
  • Vector biology and vector-pathogen interactions.
