The Traveler’s Clinic, directed by Robert Edelman, MD and staffed by CVD internists and pediatricians, offers comprehensive health care for those planning visits overseas, especially to tropical and subtropical countries and to more temperate countries in Eastern Europe and Asia.
Services
Services include immunizations to prevent yellow fever, typhoid fever, hepatitis A, meningococcal meningitis, and other infections found in host countries. Travelers are educated about other health risks and how to prevent them, including travelers’ diarrhea and other food and water borne infections, malaria and insect-borne infections, altitude sickness, and local crime activity.
Treatment
The Travelers’ Clinic offers diagnostic and treatment services for diseases and conditions contracted overseas.
To make an appointment, please phone the Department of Medicine Faculty Practice Office at 410-328-5196. The Clinic meets every Wednesday and the second and fourth Friday of the month from 1:15 PM to 4:30 PM.
