Part-Time or Volunteer Promotions (Non-Tenure Track)

Professor or Associate Professor  

  • *Prefix with "Clinical" if part-time or volunteer, and if clinical activities comprise a majority of their time.
  • *Prefix with "Adjunct", only if volunteer, and if research activities comprise a majority of their time.

Deadline: Wednesday December 9, 2009 (5:00 pm) 

  1. Read the 2001 APT Committee memo regarding APT level promotions.

  2. Read through the packet checklist (PDF or MS Word) before beginning to obtain materials for this promotion and continue to use as a working guideline.

  3. Ensure that all of the criteria listed have been met before submitting the completed packet to the OAA.

  4. Promotions at these ranks may take four to six months to complete, as they need to be reviewed by the APT Committee, Executive Committee, School of Medicine Council, and the Dean.

  5. Do not send an electronic of the candidate’s CV until you are notified by OAA. Be sure to keep track of the final version as requested revisions are made.

Assistant Professor  

  • *Prefix with "Clinical" if part-time or volunteer, and if clinical activities comprise a majority of their time.
  • *Prefix with "Adjunct", only if volunteer, and if research activities comprise a majority of their time.

Deadline: Friday April 30, 2010

  1. Read through the packet checklist (PDF) before beginning to obtain materials for this promotion and continue to use as a working guideline.

  2. Ensure that all of the criteria listed have been met before submitting the completed packet to the OAA.

  3. Be aware that faculty promotions at these ranks may take from several weeks to a month to complete, as they need to be reviewed by the School of Medicine Council, and the Dean.
